Interested in learning more about the Torah, more about Yeshua HaMashiach, more about the festivals of HaShem, and more about living an observant Jewish life centered on Messiah? Our Wednesday evening service is especially for you!  In today’s culture, moving directly into observing the Sabbath (7th day of rest) can be a challenge, especially for those who are unfamiliar with the “ancient paths” found in scripture. Whether you call it “messianic” or “Hebrew roots” our 4th day (Wednesday) evening service provides a wonderful “transitional” opportunity for everyone interested in learning more about their faith from the full counsel of G-d’s Word, in a joyous, comfortable, and welcoming environment.

Membership Classes

Membership classes are offered 3-4 times per year. Please use the Class Registration Page to register in advance.

  • Hatchala (literally “starting from scratch” – an introduction to Jewish faith in Messiah and Sar Shalom Synagogue)
  • To Be A Jew (expanded teaching on Jewish culture and context for believers in Messiah)
  • Understanding Anti-Semitism (in-depth study of anti-Jewish sentiment and actions throughout history)
  • Probing the Depths of Judaism (a challenging rocket-tour of Judaism from ancient to modern)
  • All classes are repeating 8-week sessions (with  a 4-week break in-between)

Sar Shalom’s membership program includes three required classes, and at least six months regular attendance. Our first class – Hatchala – is open to anyone who would like to learn more about living a Torah observant life. Some call this “messianic” Judaism or the Hebrew roots of the Christian faith; we simply call it “learning to embrace and follow ALL of G-d’s Word!”  The second class in our membership series – “To Be a Jew” – is open to anyone who has completed the Hatchala class. Our final class – “Understanding Anti-Semitism” – is open to anyone who has completed the first two classes. There is no cost for attending classes, but advanced registration is required.
