Introduction

Greetings from Rabbi Mordecai Griffin

Sar Shalom Synagogue is a family oriented, spirit-filled, Torah observant fellowship with a heart and focus on seeing lives transformed through the richness of our Jewish heritage, salvation through faith in Messiah, and ever increasing knowledge of Torah as our path of righteousness.  Our heart yearns for renewal and revival as expressed in the prayer of Habakkuk, “Adonai, I have heard of Your fame; I stand in awe of Your deeds, O Adonai. Renew them in our day, in our time make them known!”

Our fellowship is not exclusive to Jews by birth. Whether native or grafted in, we have become one people – “Am Echad” – through faith which produces faithfulness as children of Abraham, and therefore full members of the Jewish family and covenants. Baruch HaShem!

At first glance, some might consider Sar Shalom a “messianic” synagogue because we proclaim Yeshua as the prophesied Messiah of Israel, who first came as Mashiach Ben Yoseph (the suffering servant) over 2000 years ago, and will return again as Mashiach Ben David (the ruling king.) However, this is where the “messianic” distinction ends. Sar Shalom is an observant Jewish synagogue that fully embraces the culture, lifestyle, teachings, and foundations of the Jewish faith; and we understand our Messiah and the Scriptures first and foremost through Hebrew eyes.
